Are you looking for a new laser cutting supplier?
During the current economic climate most organisations are looking for the most cost effective laser cutting solution, however, there are other factors that you should consider when selecting a supplier:
- Delivery: Can the supplier deliver the goods when you require them? It is all very well going for the cheapest quote but check that the laser cutting supplier has the capacity to deliver on time.
Location: Consider whether your engineers or you will need to visit the new supplier to outline any special requirements. Can this be done conveniently if your new supplier is at the other end of the country?
Quality Systems: Most established laser cutting companies will be ISO registered to ensure that they have robust processes in place for job workflow. Check that your new supplier is ISO approved or at the very least has a number of quality controls in place.
Offloading: If you are free issuing goods for 5 axis laser cutting does the new laser cutting supplier have the capacity to offload and store parts for you?
CAD expertise: Many laser cutting suppliers do not have the ability to manipulate CAD and this can be a major drawback for certain aspects of laser cutting. Furthermore, check that your CAD systems are compatible with your new supplier to avoid any risk of file corruption.
Following these simple guidelines should help you when you are considering your options for the selection of a new laser cutting sub-contractor.
